GDPR – An Interim Statement from Anglia Translations Ltd

Anglia Translations Ltd places great importance on the correct, lawful, and fair handling of all personal data, respecting the legal rights, privacy, and trust of all individuals with whom it deals.

The GDPR will give more rights to individuals and more obligations to us when we process your personal data. A link to our latest privacy notice is available in the footer of this website.

We are making progress towards compliance with the GDPR in all areas where we process personal data.

In the course of its business, Anglia Translations Ltd processes personal data of its:

  • Clients
  • Prospective Clients
  • Employees
  • Suppliers
  • And personal data contained in documents for translation.

Documents for translation present a particular challenge as the content may contain personal data. We routinely treat all documents for translation as confidential and have various safeguards and processes to ensure confidentiality and to protect your content.

In order for us to provide you with the best quality translations in the shortest timescales, our translators are predominantly based abroad, including in countries outside the EEA and those not deemed to have adequate Data Privacy laws under the GDPR.

This situation is common to all Language Service Providers in the EU and is a fundamental feature of our industry. We are working on practical solutions to address this issue and expect to provide a GDPR compliant pathway for translation content in due course.
