About Anglia Translations Ltd
Anglia Translations Ltd was founded by Anthony Withers in 1992 to meet the growing demand in the UK for quality translation services following the signing of the Maastricht Treaty.
From the beginning, Anglia’s mission was to provide high quality, cost-effective translations, delivered on time and on-budget.
With over 25 years’ experience in the language services industry, we’ve had the pleasure of working within almost all market sectors in a wide range of languages. What’s more, during this time we’ve collated a huge database of highly qualified translators and have clients we’ve been working with for more than 15 years!
The Team
Anglia Translations Ltd was officially founded in 1992 by Anthony Withers. He had started the company in 1989, initially as a teacher of business French to companies in Cambridgeshire, but it soon developed into something more similar to what it is today – a translation provider – as translation requests soon overtook requests for French language learning.
Mary Gilbey, Managing Director of Anglia Translations Ltd took over from her father in 2014.
With a passion for languages, having grown up in a multi-lingual family, Mary has brought with her a huge amount of experience. Not only has she worked in numerous international sales roles, but has also travelled the world, spending time in South America, France, Spain and Israel.
Her team manage projects in over 50 languages, working with a huge variety of companies from start-ups to recognised global brands, who want to expand into global markets.
The team, who are predominantly project managers and coordinators, liaise with clients and translators, handling everything from deadlines to desktop publishing. Many members of our team have worked with us for over 15 years’ and have the same passion for language and drive for quality as each one of us. All our translators are freelancers but go through a rigorous screening process before they begin working with us.
Continued Growth
After 25 years in offices in central Huntingdon, Anglia are now located in a brand-new enterprise campus conveniently located near the A1 / A14.
The office is a bright welcoming space that is appropriate for the brand that Anglia Translations Ltd has become and the growth strategy that is planned going forward.
Despite the growth, the new technology and the bigger plans for the future, Anglia still believe in the personal touch and the importance of long-term relationships with employees, clients and suppliers.
It is this commitment to our extended family that has helped Anglia grow and continue to be successful over the years.

Little Miracles offers help to the families of children with additional needs, disabilities, and life-limiting conditions.
Translators Without Borders is a non-profit organisation that offers communication and translation services to crises impacted regions all over the world.
